{ meet the team } The Dream Team

{ meet the team } The Dream Team
_______________________________________________________________________________

More people on the Olive & Belle teams, means more weddings! We are a bunch of dorks and food/pet enthusiasts who LOVE weddings.

Hi! I'm Sydney.
Owner/Principal Wedding Planner

What is your background (school/study/career)? How'd you end up doing weddings?

I studied Spanish and International Politics. I even worked in Washington D.C. for a short period doing Spanish Journalism for Voice of America. But slowly, I found myself volunteering for corporate event task forces and hosting parties at home. Eventually I ended up accepting a job back in Austin doing events, sales and marketing for banks and credit unions. The cubicle life can be humdrum so after my own wedding, I started volunteering to help friends with their weddings just for the creative outlet. When it dawned on me that I could actually GET PAID for doing something I love, and be my own boss, AND make other people's wedding days beautiful and delightful...well I ditched that cubicle faster than you can say, "Check Please."

What is your professional strength?

My strength, and in turn the strength of our company, is logistics, organization and process. I love creating outlines and workflows and excel spreadsheets.

Do you have any pets?
His name is Rudy. He also goes by The Prince, The Dude, Rudiger, Roosey...I joke that Olive & Belle is a family business so don't be surprised if you see this guy tag along for meetings.

What is your favorite "Olive" pun or joke.

Olive you from my head, tomatoes.
What 2 food items would you bring on a desert island?
Breakfast tacos. Pizza.Honorable mentions go out to coffee, chocolate chip cookies, and hamburgers. I might die from poor diet before I die from the desert island.

What is one guilt pleasure or one thing you can't live without?
Bubble baths

Hobby or past time activities?

Gardening, hiking, camping...anything outdoors

Why do you love wedding planning?

I love wedding planning because of the people. All of the brides I have worked with end up being good friends of mine. I have the privilege of working with the most gracious and kind-hearted clients.

Favorite inspirational quote.

"It's kind of fun to do the impossible." - Walt Disney

Hi! I'm Vivian.
Wedding Planner

What is your background (school/study/career)? How'd you end up doing weddings?

I studied cell and molecular biology in school and I've had varies jobs in the science and medical field. While I loved science, biology, and all the nerdy things that came with it, I craved more interaction with people and needed a creative outlet. I fell in love with wedding planning while planning my own wedding in 2015. I DIY'ed everything from escort cards to centerpieces, and planned everything from timelines to floor plans. I loving every second of it, even the freak outs and nightmares the month of the wedding. Soon after my wedding I joined the Olive & Belle team and never looked back.

What is your professional strength?

Crafts/DIY, organization, time management

Do you have any pets?
I have 2 cats, Nori and Bell, they are the friendliest cats anyone will ever meet. I also have 1 giant Pomeranian, Lumi. He is twice the size of a normal Pomeranian (not fat, just big-boned!), and a spoiled rotten little diva.

What is your favorite "Olive" pun or joke.

Olive it up to Sydney to tell jokes

What 2 food items would you bring on a desert island?
As long as I have rice and soy sauce, I can scavenge the island and cook anything and everything.

What is one guilt pleasure or one thing you can't live without?
Coffee

Hobby or past time activities?
Gardening, calligraphy, and playing computer games with my hubby.

Why do you love wedding planning?

I love being part of someone's special day, and I feel honored to help make their dream day come true.

Favorite inspirational quote.

“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
    for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
    for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
    for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
10
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."
- Matthew 3:5-10

Spaghetti and Meatballs

What is one guilt pleasure or one thing you can't live without?

Why do you love wedding planning?

I love wedding planning because I get to be apart of such a special day in the lives of those who we work with. The day begins with two families, add the love of two people {one from each family}, and when the event ends the two families now leave as one. Weddings are much more than they seem.

Favorite inspirational quote.

“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body. But, rather to skid in broadside followed by a cloud of smoke, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a ride!” -Hunter S. Thompson
